Coonawarra is arguably Australia's most famous and finest wine district - its secret lies in a treasured rich red terra rossa soil, limestone, pure underground water and a long cool ripening season for the grapes. Coonawarra's 'red dirt' is only 12km long and 2km wide, and is all but taken up by vineyards with more than 20 Coonawarra wineries open seven days a week.. waiting for you to pop in for a drop!
